It is extremely important that gas appliances are inspected and
serviced each year.
Waltham Forest Housing operates an annual service
program for gas appliances. This is to ensure the appliances
are working safely and efficiently, are economical to run and are
not a cause of danger to you, your family or your neighbour; safe
from carbon monoxide poisoning or gas explosions.
The company that we use to carry out the service inspection will

A second letter will be sent 7 days prior to the appointment.
This is a reminder letter of the appointment date. Both letters
have contact telephone numbers so if the appointment is not
convenient then an alternative appointment can be made. This should
not be more than 12 months from the last service inspection.
All the engineers who carry out this service are Gas Safe
Registered. They all have ID cards indicating this. Please ensure
you keep this appointment as failure to give access will result in
court proceedings to Waltham Forest Magistrates Court for a Warrant
of Entry into your property. This Warrant of Entry to your home is
to allow us to carry out the safety inspection of Gas Appliances
and Fittings. This is pursuant to sections 79 and 80 of the
Environmental Protection Act 1990. Additionally, you will be
charged for the costs of the forced entry, lock change and new
