Who we are

Estates - Estate Inspections service standard

Every estate is inspected on an agreed frequency by Neighbourhood Officers, Estate Supervisors, Surveyors and resident representatives.

How often the inspection is carried out will depend on requirements of the block for example, it may be inspected more regularly if it suffers from littering and/or antisocial behaviour.

During the inspection, all parts of the estate will be inspected and graded depending on it’s cleanliness. Inspections are given a grading A, B, C or D in line with the Environmental Protection Act. Grade A is excellent and Grade D is poor. You can view our ‘cleaning standards’ document for further information on this.

During the inspection other things will be looked at such as how clean the windows and lights are, if there are any cob webs, are repairs required, whether the grass and shrubs are properly maintained and the area is weed free.

Information collected during the inspection is recorded on an inspection sheet and information about repairs orders raised and the grading given is fed back to the resident representative for that estate. Our staff will also use photographic equipment to record the more hazardous issues.
